It’s really sad how they are willing to use George’s name just to loot stuff and call that protesting. Not to mention trying to kill cops and store owners. Those aren’t protesters, those are criminals taking advantage of the chaos.

I could have told you that before. Riots almost always hit those types of businesses the hardest, sad to say.

In Chicago the looting was primarily limited to big box stores, which not that big of a deal since they will definitely be insured .
However having the windows at multiple stores within 500ft of your apartment broken out at 1 am is an interesting experience...

The riots aren't right, but if you're more upset by the riots than the conditions that lead to them you need to reexamine things.

I’ve always been a huge fan of civil disobedience, but that does not include violence, arson, or theft. I’m guessing 5% of the protesters were there to encourage anarchy, the rest were well meaning folks that wanted their voices heard. I’m not sure how to separate the wheat from the chafe, but the well meaning protesters are lumped in with the criminal element. Seattle was an embarrassment yesterday, and it’s not like peaceful protests don’t occur here regularly.

I really hope the night actions are resolved soon. These are criminals attempting and succeeding to capitalize on the chaos.
I’m not a US citizen and I fall squarely in the middle of the venn diagram. What happened to Mr. Floyd and the past killings are a travesty for your nation. People have the right and should be protesting, as peacefully as they can. I’m not saying the precinct and police property in Minneapolis should be destroyed but I understand the destruction as part of emotional scale justifiably.
However, watching your cities around the US be torched, tagged and ransacked when the sun down is sickening. These are not protesters, they’re criminals and shitheads that are not doing this for the cause but for their own gain and spectacle , and it’s time for the media to out them as anarchists and criminals . While they can flaunt 1312 ACAB at police during this time, the whole situation is going to change to a free for all if citizens begin to mobilize and organize as militia . I really hope it doesn’t get to that point.
T he petty criminal mindset that a little stealing or damaging a business, residence or property is “okay” as it’s covered by insurance, fuck you, it’s not. Dealing with insurance claims is a pain in the ass, and as noted situations such as may not be covered by policy. Whether it’s faceless big box or mom and pop, stealing is stealing, vandalism is vandalism, and the people that do this are scumbags.
At the end of all of this. I want to see change in your country. I want to see your society become homogenous and embrace de-escalation instead purposely encouraging divisions and winding people up to battle because of them .
